The Oldest KATA in KARATE History (セーサン)

Discover the earliest kata from Okinawa – the birth place of Karate.

This kind actually originates in China, from a kung-fu design called Incense Shop boxing. This was the design exercised at the Southern Shaolin holy place, which later became White Crane, as well as heavily affected the origins of Karate.

( Or “Tode” as the martial art was called before its innovation in landmass Japan.).

This kata exists in every traditional style, and is even included in Bubishi – the bible of Karate.
