The amazing origins of the Fearless Ninja

There are a lot of exaggerated misconceptions about Ninjas and what they “really” did as spies. Although they were indeed known to be assassins, it was often not their primary role as Hollywood would have us believe.

Needless to say, the “magical inhuman” powers that ninjas were given by Hollywood have originated from great feats that some of the more famous ninja were known to have accomplished. There weren’t a lot of “famous” ninjas, due to the fact that fame and popularity would make them useless as spies. (Can you imagine Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt trying to blend in with everyday blue collar workers on the street?) Since ninjas were known to have advanced knowledge of physics and chemistry, this allowed them to blend into an enemy’s society as doctors, merchants, artist, or service specialists. Many ninjas were also known to hide their identities by posing as monks.
