She may be well placed in the race for Rio but Olympic taekwondo champion Jade Jones insists she will not be letting her rivals take the opportunity to close the gap on her in this year’s Grand Prix Series, writes Pippa Field.
Jones is currently second in the world -57kg rankings, comfortably inside the top six required for qualification for next year’s Olympic Games.
It comes after a season so far which has included the 22-year-old being controversially knocked out of the quarter-finals of the World Championships before bouncing back with gold at the inaugural European Championships in Baku.
