My name is Rokas. I’m a Lithuanian person that educated Aikido for 14 years, 7 of them running a professional Aikido Dojo until at some point I realized that Aikido does not measure up to what it guarantees.

Lead by this awareness I determined to make a bold action to shut my Aikido Dojo and relocate to Portland, Oregon for 6 months to start educating MMA at the popular Straight Blast Gym Headquarters under head trainer Matt Thornton.

After 6 months extensive training I had my initial amateur MMA battle after which I relocated back to Lithuania. Throughout every one of this time I am recording my experience through my YouTube channel called “Martial Arts Journey”.

Now I am gradually establishing up strategies to proceed training MMA under quality advice and preparing for my next MMA battle as I better document and share my trip as well as discoveries.
